Terms of service

Who you are contracting with

Rivalr is provided by Rivalr ("we", "us"), a sole trader business in Sweden. When you create an account or use the service you enter into an agreement with Rivalr. By continuing to use the service you accept these terms. If you use Rivalr on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it; if you use it as an individual, you confirm you are of legal age.

The service

Rivalr is a software-as-a-service product that monitors publicly available information about companies you nominate and presents findings, predictions and briefings derived from it. Access is delivered digitally through your browser.

What you may expect from us

• Each finding records the source it came from, so you can check it.
• Predictions are estimates. They carry a confidence score and they can be wrong.
• Your workspace data is isolated from every other customer's.

What we expect from you

• Keep your credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity on your account.
• Provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.

Acceptable use

You must not misuse the service. In particular you must not:

• use Rivalr for any unlawful purpose, or for companies you have no legitimate interest in;
• use it for fraud, spam or deception;
• infringe anyone's intellectual property or other rights;
• interfere with the security of the service — including uploading malware, probing for vulnerabilities, or scraping or overloading it;
• reverse engineer the service, circumvent technical limits, or resell or redistribute its output as your own monitoring product.

Intellectual property

Rivalr retains all rights, title and interest in the service and its intellectual property, including the software, documentation and branding. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service within your selected plan for as long as your subscription is active. You keep ownership of the content you add, and grant us a limited licence to host and process it solely to provide the service.

Predictions are not advice

Rivalr produces estimates from public signals using automated analysis. They are decision support, not financial, legal or strategic advice, and you remain responsible for what you do with them.

Orders, payment and billing

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Payment, billing, taxes, renewals, cancellations and refunds are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. Plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance and renew automatically until cancelled. The trial runs 14 days with 3 competitors and requires no card. Cancel any time; the plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for. See our refund policy.

Service level

We work to keep Rivalr available and accurate, but we do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" without implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits, data or goodwill. Nothing limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury where the law does not allow it.

Suspension and termination

You can close your workspace whenever you like. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms, fail to pay, create a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly or seriously violate our policies. We will tell you why. When access ends, your workspace data is deleted.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, and disputes are handled by Swedish courts.

Changes

If these terms change materially we will tell account owners by email before the change takes effect.
